- Cantagions are on a whole nother level than allergens. One top of that, you are more likely to get infected with HIV or hepatitis from a transfusion than invoking an allergy (dont know about getting an allergy from a transfusion though).

- Ohh, And if you think I am full of crap, just for fun, look up deployment numbers for Schriever AFB and Fort Carson. Since there is a difference in total number of people stationed at each base, you can even do it by percentage.

- Philip, reading is your friend. Firstly, I did not and never said only from 2 bases. In fact I said from all 7. I said that it is mostly from 2 bases. Secondly, I said it is lose-lose for the government. I also said it was a boon for corporation.

- On top of that, are you going to test every donor for every known allergy? As giving someone who is not allergic to a compound blood from someone who is, can trigger an allergy. Would you refuse blood from a person with known/unknown allergies?

- MsWheezer, Allergies are an interesting affliction in that not all doctors will agree with an allergy diagnosis. All my doctors agree I should not be exposed to certain medications/chemicals, yet they cannot agree if it is an allergy or an extreme intolerance.

Swine flu panic without cause?? Following the extremely basic safety precaution of staying away from the epicenter of an outbreak that is killing people with healthy immune systems is not called "panic," it's called common sense. I think anyone who WILLINGLY travels to Mexico for a vacation during this time, who KNOWS about this epidemic, should be at minimum required to be tested before returning to the U.S. and infecting innocent people who had the good sense to stay away from this outbreak.
